Our program support residents living in a public housing estate in Footscray. All residents are 55 years and over and living in single units. A community garden ahs been established several years ago and as you’d imagine is a fantastic place for residents to socialise and benefit from going their own produce.

Unfortunately the existing gardeners are finding maintenance of some of the communal areas (e.g. between individual garden boxes) difficult to maintain.

Skills/experience required by volunteers
-Ability to weed, mow & tidy the areas between garden plots.
-Effectively communicate with older residents from culturally & linguistically diverse backgrounds
-Provide gardening advice/ support to new gardeners (optional)
Location
127 Gordon St Footscray
Time commitment
1-2 hours per week / fortnight (flexible)
