Peter Andrews is a grazier and Thoroughbred horse breeder from Bylong in the Upper Hunter Valley and was the subject of the most popular ever episode and the only ever two-part series of ABC’s “Australian Story.” Peter will provide an overview of his theories on how Australia’s landscape can be brought ‘Back from the Brink’ of total degradation. He will challenge your beliefs on the treatment of weeds and your understanding of Australia’s system of hydrology. His insight and ability to read the landscape will leave you in no doubt that it can be restored to pre-European levels…..or better.

This lecture is a prelude to a multi-day forum with Peter, Tony Coote, Darren Doherty, and others (hopefully Colin Seis:Pasture cropping, David Marsh:Holistic Farming and a CSIRO soil scientist) planned for March 2010.

For information on Peter Andrews go to www.naturalsequenceassociation.org or www.abc.net.au/austory/specials/rightasrain/default.htm and www.abc.net.au/austory/specials/rightasraintwo/default.htm

Please forward this email to those you believe will be interested in Peter’s work. It is important that we encourage a dialogue on alternative methods of land restoration than those that currently continue to fail. Peter’s work has been successfully trialed, and continues to be monitored by Australian National University.
