It’s hard to believe that our cities can play a role in protecting our flora and fauna for future generations. This forum will explore the original ecology of Melbourne and the role that our suburbs can now play in protecting and restoring species, in both public areas and our backyards.

Guest speakers include:

Dr Gary Presland, author of A Place for a Village. What was the local ecology and geology like in Melbourne? Find out about our natural history.
Assoc Prof Mark McDonnell, Australia Research Centre for Urban Ecology. What value does urban ecology have in Moonee Valley and beyond?
Holly Parsons, Birds Australia. What can we do in our backyards to help with biodiversity? Try Birds in Backyards.
Moonee Valley is home to many residents keen to discuss big ideas and local solutions. We welcome you to join us at these forums as your thoughts are central to our city sustainability planning.

Refreshments will be provided and giveaways are up for grabs!

RSVP: Thursday 1 September on 9243 8888 or environment@mvcc.vic.gov.au
